Accessibility & Inclusion

Mama Killa World (MKW)
Scope: spiritual/educational & wellness activities (non-medical)
Last updated: 17/10/2025

MKW believes accessibility and inclusion are essential to a safe space. This policy explains how to request accommodations, what support we offer, and our operational limits to protect everyone’s safety, dignity, and autonomy.

1) Principles

  • Dignity & respect: kind conduct, non-judgment, inclusive language.

  • Non-discrimination: zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination based on gender, orientation, culture, ability, age (18+ only), beliefs, or origin.

  • Safety first: individual and group safety come first; some accommodations may require adjusting the practice.

  • Non-medical scope: MKW does not diagnose or treat disease; our support is spiritual/educational and logistical, not clinical.

2) Languages & communication

  • Primary language: English.

  • We can facilitate in English, Spanish, and Papiamentu, with support in Dutch when required.

  • Key materials: summaries and forms can be provided in these languages—please request in advance.

  • Interpretation: we’ll try to arrange community interpretation when feasible; it may require more time and/or added cost.

3) How to request accommodations (process)

  • Tell us your needs when booking via WhatsApp or in the web form.

  • Recommended lead time: 7–14 days before the event (longer for retreats and complex accommodations).

  • Helpful info:

    • Mobility, vision/hearing, neurodivergence, allergies, diet, medication, medical devices.

    • Specific supports that work for you (e.g., chair with backrest, interpreter, frequent breaks).

  • Written confirmation: we’ll confirm what’s possible, what adjustments we’ll make, and any safety limits.

  • Confidentiality: we treat this as health-sensitive information under Health & Safety – Privacy.

4) Common supports we can offer

  • Physical space: backed chairs, seats near exits/restrooms, rest areas, soft lighting, extra mats.

  • Signage & orientation: clear signs, paced verbal directions, optional walkthrough of the space.

  • Breaks & pacing: micro-breaks, option to participate seated, brief exits and guided return.

  • Sensory environment: low-stimulation zones (moderate light/sound); low-fragrance request when possible.

  • Communication: plain language facilitation, recaps, and time for questions.

  • Diet & beverages: separated table for common allergens (if applicable); water available (guided hydration per practice).

  • Media & privacy: Green/Yellow/Red consent system for photos/videos; NO by default in deep practices.

  • Financial (when announced): limited solidarity-priced spots or payment plans; ask for availability.

5) Mobility & access

  • Venue entry: we’ll inform you of barriers (steps, slopes, uneven paths) and assistance options.

  • Restrooms: we’ll indicate available accessibility or nearby alternatives.

  • Onsite transfers: staff can escort short distances within our capacity.

  • Wheelchairs/canes: welcome; we’ll adapt the circle layout.

6) Sensory support & neurodivergence

  • Light/sound: we aim for moderate levels; tell us if you need relocation.

  • Clear signaling: predictable structure (opening → intention → practice → integration → closing).

  • Partial opt-out: you may observe or pause briefly without losing your spot—just inform the team.

  • Regulation items: earplugs, eye mask, personal blanket, quiet fidgets are welcome.

7) Allergies, scents & food

  • Low-fragrance request: please avoid strong perfumes.

  • Food allergies: share details; if food is included, we’ll label main ingredients.

  • First-aid kit: we carry basics; we do not administer medications to others.

8) Medication, devices & assistance

  • Personal meds: self-administer only; we do not modify medical regimens.

  • Medical devices (e.g., glucometer, inhaler): welcome; tell us where you’ll keep them.

  • Service animals: contact us in advance; we’ll try to accommodate while respecting allergies and venue rules.

9) Limits & higher-risk practices

Some practices require stricter criteria or may be incompatible with certain conditions. To protect you, MKW may adapt, postpone, or decline participation when:

  • There are contraindications (e.g., cardiac disease/arrhythmias, uncontrolled hypertension, pregnancy/breastfeeding, seizure history, recent surgery, medications with significant interactions).

  • Current medications create notable risk (MAOIs, SSRIs/SNRIs, antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, diuretics, beta-blockers, anticoagulants).

  • The environment/support required cannot be safely guaranteed by the venue.

For Kambô and Ayahuasca (higher-risk practices), specific protocols, reinforced screening, and additional consent apply. Ayahuasca is facilitated only where legally permitted and with local legal guidance.

10) Participation alternatives

  • Partial participation (e.g., meditation/integration without the medicine component).

  • Rescheduling to a more suitable format/space.

  • Referral to external professionals (psychology/medical) if clinical needs arise.

11) Conduct & social inclusion

  • Zero harassment and zero discrimination; report any incident to staff.

  • Respectful language: avoid pejoratives or invasive terms; ask people how they prefer to be addressed.

  • Confidentiality: do not share others’ stories outside the group without permission.

12) Emergencies & incidents

  • Staff may pause the activity, provide first aid, and call medical services.

  • We keep an incident record and provide aftercare guidance and referrals when appropriate.

  • When in doubt, choose your safety and inform us immediately.

13) Privacy & data

  • We handle accessibility data under Health & Safety – Privacy (purpose, legal basis, retention, and rights).

  • We do not sell data; we share only with emergency services or authorities when required by law.

14) Participant commitments

  • Disclose truthfully your conditions, medication, and support needs.

  • Follow the Preparation Guide, Sobriety Policy, Conduct Guidelines, and staff instructions.

  • Ask for breaks, relocation, or assistance during the activity whenever needed.

15) Updates

  • This policy may be updated for operational improvements or regulatory changes. The current version will be published on our site.
